FAQ

What is therapy like?

Therapy is a place where an individual can bring any concerns or issues that they would like to address. Therapy is a non-judgmental space and what I often refer to as “ground zero” for emotions and thoughts. If you are unsure on how to proceed with a situation, whether it is for yourself or in managing any kind of a relationship with someone else, or just processing an event, therapy can be a great way to talk with a trained objective person who can provide insight or offer a different perspective.

Who benefits from therapy?

Anyone can benefit from therapy. I have sessions for individual therapy, couples counseling and family therapy as well. There can be traumatic events from a person’s past that they have never processed. Or someone may be unsure how to proceed in a romantic relationship, friendship, or relationship with a family member. Others may experience symptoms that they feel may be part of a specific mental health diagnosis or have been newly diagnosed and unsure of how to manage it. There is no problem too big or small for therapy. The individual decides what is important and where to focus. Sometimes, it can be the first time someone can be honest about something and share it with a therapist who accepts them exactly as they are.

How long is therapy?

Therapy is typically 50 minutes, usually meeting once per week. Some prefer to meet every two weeks once they feel more regulated.  I am flexible in finding a time that works best for the client and the frequency with which they would like to meet. My sessions are currently by video or phone call, which can fit more conveniently into a person’s day. I am currently based in Pittsburgh, PA and can conduct sessions with anyone living anywhere in Pennsylvania.

What forms of payment are accepted?

I accept out of pocket payments per session without insurance as well as Venmo, PayPal, Zelle and Cash App.

Where are payments located?

Payment is located under the schedule appointments tab or please scroll down to the bottom on any page and you will find the apps there for payment. I accept Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or Cash App.

Do you accept insurance?

I am a provider with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna insurance. Only a copay would then be due at the time of the session with insurance coverage.
